Did Glenn Greenwald And The Guardian Just Get Spectacularly Trolled?

image

Back in pre-Twitter 1996, a Physics professor from New York named Alan Sokal engaged in a legendary act of trolling. Sokal submitted a hoax article to a postmodern academic journal which was, in Sokal’s own words, ‘salted with nonsense’.

The idea was that the journal’s grip on reality had become so loose that they would publish any old rubbish just so long as it played to their biases. And so it proved. Sokal’s article “Transgressing the Boundaries: Towards a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity” made the summer issue.

A Lesson In ‘Journalism’ With Ansar and Werleman

image

You can learn a lot about a person’s agenda and objectivity by how willing they are to share unfavourable claims about their ideological opponents without scrutinising them first.

It’s been a fun day today on that platform of common sense, Twitter.

First we had CJ Werleman share this video with the below claim in service of his on-going mission to demonise all that is Israel.

What he fails to tell you however, is that not only is the footage from 2008, but the Palestinian detainee was shot with a rubber bullet, in the foot. Hardly desirable behaviour I’ll grant you – but it paints a slightly different picture than the one presented by Werleman. As a side note, the soldier responsible was arrested and convicted for his actions – by Israeli authorities.

Sean Kent Opts For Narrative Over Integrity

This doesn’t apply to everyone I encounter on this topic of course, but whenever I notice someone is really putting their back into anti-Israel rhetoric or has ‘BDS’ in their Twitter bio, I find it useful to subject them to a quick purity test.

Searching some key words against their output can often reveal everything you need to know about their motivations. Useful terms include: ‘9/11’, ‘false flag’, ‘holocaust’, ‘protocols’ and ‘inside job’ – for reasons which should be obvious, but in case they are not I’ll explain.

Will Dean Obeidallah Tell Us (And The Police) What He Knows About Craig Hicks?

image

I recently caught Dean Obeidallah making a very serious and entirely false allegation in the direction of Sam Harris. When Dean’s error of judgement was pointed out to him, instead of assuming the role of ‘decent human’ and offering an apology or retraction, he decided to behave like a petulant toddler instead.

February 2016 signalled a year since self-professed atheist Craig Hicks murdered three innocent Muslims in Chapel Hill. Dean decided to mark this occasion by taking to Twitter to bait atheists about it; namely that they are either the same as Hicks, part of the same murderous ideology or that hicks was motivated to kill by some anti-Muslim, ‘new atheist’ animus. Which is odd.

CJ Werleman Jokes About His Indonesian ‘Servants’, Tries To Smear Dawkins For Colonialism

image

The smear factory that is the regressive left are almost painfully easy to expose for hypocrisy. There is something about their willingness to spout lies at such a rapid pace that invariably indicates some related skeletons in their own closet.

This brings me to CJ Werleman rather predictably. This time, he’s been trying to smear Richard Dawkins as some sort of racist Colonialist by highlighting this from Dawkins’s latest autobiography:

Ep#73 – Michael Sherlock – ISIS & Islam

The excellent author Michael Sherlock (@SherlockMichael) returns to The #GSPodcast. We clear up once and for all the ‘arguments’ linking atheism to Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot. We talk about the ‘context’ argument when it comes to the Qur’an. Also, Michael will be telling us why the lies of CJ Werleman have led to death threats for him and his children. We cover current blasphemy laws and discuss whether ISIS represents Islam.

Also available on iTunes and Stitcher.
