Does the expression “My god, my god, why have you forsaken me” not indicate that Jesus lost his faith at death?
That – of course – assumes that Jesus as described in church propaganda existed as a real person.
I don’t believe that but why let the truth get in the way of a good story?

Why not start an equivalent rumour mill about senior clerics who have recanted their beliefs on their death beds?
The Archbishop of Canterbury already admitted there was nothing there when he prayed, did he not?
Does that not make him a good candidate for conversion to atheism on his death bed?
How about the Popes? The way some of those lived they must surely never have believed in “god” or “life after death”?
Former Chief Rabbi Sachs; some senior UK imam figure/s.
There’s lots of fun to be had, isn’t there?

Its so arrogant that people try to appropriate the dead and assume an atheist, once dead, must have wanted to convert.

Rather like the flat refusal to allow anyone to Die. They have to “Pass away” or worse, they “passed”. OK to say about religious people but just an irritating euphemism denying the struggle of life for everyone else. Like old cheese.

And what is “Passed”? Ignoring someone? Farting? Flirting?
